Glenn Morgan
Glenn Morgan has been a familiar sight on the California
Renaissance Faire circuit for over 25 years. Other rather interesting
gigs through the years have included performing in a program of New
Music at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, playing in a "Medieval
Village" erected on the grounds of Hollywood's Paramount Studios for
the opening of the movie "Brave Heart", and NOT playing in the debut of
a new piece presented at the Magic Theatre at Fort Mason in San
Francisco (it is a long story...) Also, Glenn has been seen at various
Celtic Faires, Craft Shows, and ALWAYS at the Charles Dickens Christmas
Faire, at the Cow Palace, Daly City.
In addition, he has given volunteer performances in hospitals and
nursing homes, and two years as a volunteer as the Entertainment Chair
for the Scottish Highland Games at the Dunsmuir House in Oakland.
Mr Morgan has also has a long history in the SF Bay Area as a
dulcimer teacher, one-time owner of a folk music shop in Colma, CA, and
publisher of a beautiful, if not profitable, mail order catalog of folk
and traditional music. (Customers said the catalog was so nice they
didn't want to defile it by tearing out the order form!)
Somewhere around 35,000 happy customers have purchased Glenn's recordings through the years, starting with the 1987 release of Southwind. Through five subsequent recordings, it is clear that the
enthusiasm shown by Glenn's audience remains undimmed. Each recording
reflects a different aspect and setting for Glenn's music, leaving his
customers with no "wrong" choices… just different ones!
