A Few Oats Shy of a Haggis
A wonderful collection of original and traditional Celtic songs and tunes.
"Juan Coffeebean" was written on a dare from Bill Stoddard. "The Selkie Queen" was composed by firelight, dust and red wine. Thanks to THL Ygraine. "Avalon's Shore" was "Mirror" was written after reading Stephen R. Donaldson's The Mirror of Her Dreams and A Man Rides Through during a severe bout of unemployment. "Karelia's Song" was recorded with permission from David R. Watson. "Come, Kate, and Sing" is written in the style of 16th century catches. (Craig has never had coffee like this, but if you find some, let him know.) "Wedding Bransle" was composed for the wedding of Gina and Oliver, and was recorded and performed with their permission. Marc Biagi bids a fond farewell to the Oats and to all Oats fans. On this album, he plays on "The Selkie Queen", "O Kyrie Thou Wilt Leave Me" and "Mirror", and he sings on "Juan Coffeebean", "Avalon's Shore" and "Ye Mariners All". Special thanks to: Steve Langdon, Rob Heller and Jill Bingham, Anastasia Hunter and Charles Herbig, Mistress Eilidh, the ever-changing company of Potrero War autocrats, and all of our fans. Without you, this album could not exist. © 2000 The Wild Oats. All Rights Reserved.
